Opening a savings account
Opening a savings account is simple. Just follow these three easy steps!
Step one — Decide which kind of account you want. Some banks have special savings accounts just for kids. To find out which account you’d like, just stop in at your local bank. They’ll recommend an account that’s right for you.
Step two — Get your money. Once you decide which savings account is good for you, ask the bank how much money is required to open the account. Usually it’s not much — so it’s easy to start saving! So start saving for your deposit, or set your money aside right away.
Step three — Open your account! Bring your mom, dad, or guardian to co-sign your account, which means they’ll sponsor you. You’ll all need to bring some information with you to the bank, so print out this checklist as a start. Ask your bank what information they require.
