Where will you live — on base, off-base, in an apartment, a rental house, or a home that you buy?
Military members have a lot of options for housing, however there are many variables that can influence your decision. For example, an E-2 private may only have the option of living on the installation, whereas an officer could rent a house on base or live off base. Plus, availability is an issue. Many installations struggle with providing adequate housing.
Whether you live on base or off, there are no right or wrong answers when it comes to choosing your living arrangements. Everyone’s goals and circumstances, financial and otherwise, are different. Make sure you think through what works best for you.
